The politicians on Tuesday criticised the violence which they claim was organised by the ODM party.

Led by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah, the Jubilee politicians claimed that Matiang'i and Kibicho were behind the violence, alleging that an agreement was made on the eve of the poll, in a meeting with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

"We are aware that both Dr Matiang’i and Dr Kibicho secretly met Mr Odinga in a hotel in Karen over the by-election,” said Ichung'wah, adding that the meeting was held in a hotel in Karen.

Ichung'wah alleged that in the meeting, it was agreed that the hired goons, allegedly under the command of Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati, would cause havoc in Kibra and get away with it.

“It’s because of the meeting that goons commanded by Mr Arati have not been arrested,” he added.

However, in a quick rejoinder, 13 ODM MPs rubbished the claims.

Led by ODM Director of Campaigns Junet Mohammed, they termed the claims lamentations from people unwilling to accept the outcome of an election where their candidate, McDonald Mariga, lost to ODM's Imran Okoth.

Junet warned the group against dragging the names of civil servants into electoral issues, reminding them that neither of the two voted in Kibra.

He also argued that there was no such meeting involving Raila.

"Leave civil servants out of this by-election. The civil servants were not voting but just doing their work," he said.
