Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has widely been used to assuage symptoms of fever, inflammation and pain.
It is among the most preferred drug when it comes to quelling minor and mere infections like headaches and such. In as much as it is highly important in relieving pain, the drug can pose some risks to man.
It is associated with some side effects and here they are as noted by Alan Carter, Pharm.D., a clinical pharmacist
1. Vomiting
Vomiting could be a sign of other infections like it could mean that you are suffering from malaria, typhoid, cholera and such. However, it turned out some people tend to regurgitate the contents of a stomach after taking the drug. It is believed the drug can trigger the contraction of the stomach linings that in turn lead to vomiting.
2. Dyspepsia
It is a comprehensive term for mild disorders of digestion, characterised by stomach pain, discomfort, heartburn and nausea, often following a meal. In some cases, after taking ibuprofen, dyspepsia may be the aftermath.
3. Diarrhoea
The drug is said to cause diarrhoea. If you are always diarrhoeic after taking the drug, you should raise your eyebrows. It is not something common and you will want to see a medic for advice.
4. Dizziness
Have you been experiencing lightheadedness without any apparent reasons? There are many underlying factors behind it. Ibuprofen can attribute to dizziness.
