Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua on Wednesday launched an attack on the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka for letting down the Kamba people.
In an interview on KTN, Mutua blamed Kalonzo for failing to use his influence during the tenures of retired presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki, when he served as Vice President, to push for projects for the region.
In a report published by the Standard, the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader claimed that the continued stay of the Wiper party leader as the Kamba kingpin has cost the Kamba people and the entire region economically making them lag behind in development.
He also claimed that Kalonzo has not given much to society and he believes that he won’t lead them.
The vocal governor asked other counties in the region to support his 2022 presidential dream saying that its Machakos time and both counties should support them the way they have been supporting them other years.
“Machakos has never fielded a candidate for the presidency. It is time for other regions of Ukambani to give back. Machakos has always supported Kitui," Mutua said as quoted by the Standard.
