The countdown for a possible Kisumu All Stars promotion to the Kenya Premier League (KPL) next season is already on.
The lakeside team populalry known as the Blue Eagles will host Eldoret Youth at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Wednesday afternoon, with only 9 matches remaining before the current National Super League (NSL) season comes to an end.
The management is now calling on the fans to rally behind the team as they seek KPL promotion, less than two years after being formed by the Kisumu County Government.
“The countdown begins....9 matches to go. Come support the Blue Eagles - you're the BLUE ARMY,” posted Kisumu All stars on Facebook.
The match against Eldoret Youth will start at 3:00 pm, with the entrance fee being fifty shillings.
Last week, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) awarded the Blue Eagles three points and two goals after rivals Wazito FC fielded an illegible player when the two sides met in Kisumu recently.
Wazito FC had mauled Kisumu All Stars 4-0.
The Austine Oduor led side currently lead the NSL standings with 60 points, same as Wazito which has an inferior goal difference.
Ken Kenyatta’s Ushuru FC is third with 59 points after 29 matches. The top two teams at the end of the season will get an automatic KPL spot.
