Majority leader Aden Duale has found himself at an awkward position following his recent utterances over the recent shooting of former Garissa CEC finance Idris Muktar.
This follows a presser issued by local elders from Muktar's backyard.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Garissa town, the elders while voicing out their observations on the recent shooting of former CEC Idriss Mukhtar said Duale has been a problem in the ongoing investigations.
While condemning the shooting in their strongest terms possible, the elders warned Duale against politicising the matter and urged him to keep away from police investigations.
"We are very much saddened on how politicians are bringing politics in the shooting probe. Aden Duale should stay away from the matter and leave the police to do their work. We are keenly following the matter," read a statement from the elders.
Just a week ago, a section of leaders from the region had brought in the matter of succession politics in the alleged assassination attempt.
