Makutano junction, also commonly known as Kyumbi, is a town located along the busy Nairobi- Mombasa highway in Machakos County.
As it is believed by most Kenyans that the towns situated on highways have different funny and shocking incidents, Kyumbi is indeed such a town.
Is there a profession in this country in which the players are true to their calling?
A while back, the worst a man would have expected from a prostitute was getting killed with sweetness or his backbone getting dislocated, following bedroom marathon or related acrobatics.
Nowadays in Kyumbi town, there are hookers who double as thugs. They rob unsuspecting men at gun or knifepoint.
Today, when prostitutes are not drugging their victims to steal from them in the small but busy town, they hide their colleagues beneath their service' beds in brothels only to emerge and overpower their victims and steal from them during the act.
Alternatively, they lure victims for a threesome, an offer too tempting for most men to turn down, before turning tables and attacking them.
Take the case of a man from Kyumbi who was robbed at knifepoint.
The man, identified as Kariuki a truck driver, was recently attacked and robbed at knifepoint before lodging management came to his rescue after he wailed for help.
What would have been a tantalising amorous congress between the reveller and two prostitutes spiralled out of control and turned into a fierce fight, with the duo beating and robbing the poor soul, before leaving him naked at a lodging.
The script seems to have been written long ago. Desperate to calm his nerves after a tiring day’s work, the reveler, believed to be in his early 40's, went to enjoy a beer at a bar in Kyumbi.
He reportedly was on his 5th bottle of the devil’s drink when two sassy-looking young ladies— whose dress code suggested they were likely of easy virtue— entered the pub, drawing attention of many revellers, with some making catcalls.
Lured in for the kill with alcohol already taking its effect on him, the man, perhaps desperate to show off how financially loaded he was, began entertaining the women who were sharing a table with him, oblivious of what was in store for him.
After letting down their guard, the three launched into a light banter, as they toyed with the idea of having a threesome.
They quickly found themselves a room at an adjacent lodging after striking the deal, with the curious man promising to pay for the service.
Just after undressing in readiness for the gland to gland combat, the women turned tables on the man and confiscated his clothes, before demanding he gives them all the money he had on him, whilst threatening to stab him with a knife.
As the panic-stricken man kicked and screamed, the prostitutes ransacked his pockets and wallet for cash, his phone, and all other valuables.
Other revellers and lodging management had to rush at the scene to save the man. But the seemingly bold women turned against him, claiming that he had reneged on a deal they had struck on payment, forcing them to forcefully take their money.
They then left and melted in the darkness, before reinforcement arrived to save the man.
Men, be watchful.
