Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri now wants a probe carried out on the Office of the President over claims of misuse of public funds and malicious operations.
Speaking in Nakuru on Sunday, Ngunjiri claimed that the office and its funds are being used for wrong purposes, among them frustration of people considered political enemies.
He alleged that some top government officials have infiltrated the office and are using it to fight Deputy President William Ruto, in a bid to scuttle his 2022 presidential bid.
"The office should be used to connect and unite Kenyans but is now a political hub used to fight political enemies. Initially, it was where leaders met to intervene for their people but that is no longer the case," he said.
He accused Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho and other officials of using their influence around the president to oppress the DP with a plan of scuttling his 2022 plans.
Ngunjiri claimed that Kibicho and his associates are using public funds to sponsor anti-Ruto campaigns, and now wants an audit carried out in the office over possible embezzlement.
"Kwanini Rais wetu wa Kenya Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, amemwachilia Kibicho, PS Office of the President, amewachilia Nancy Gitau, ambaye wanadish pesa ya kugawanya wanakenya, why is the President doing this? (Why has our President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta left Kibicho, PS Office of the President, Nancy Gitau, who are dishing out money to divide Kenyans, why is the President doing this?" he posed.
"The office of the president is now among the most corrupt and we want the Auditor General to probe it. Hii pesa ndio inatumiwa kugawa wananachi (this is the money being used to divide Kenyans)," he said.
