Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has faulted Deputy President William Ruto's close allies over their strategic plans ahead of 2022 polls.
Maangi said politicians allied to DP Ruto should stop panicking early since 2022 is far away.
"Ruto may find it hard to win the hearts of Kenyans in 2022 because people around him are not sincere. I'm of the opinion that Ruto's aides to stop talking about 2022 since this is not the right time," he noted.
The second in command said elected leaders should drop their differences and serve the electorates diligently.
He insisted that he will not be scared facing rivals in the ballot for the Kisii County top seat.
"My rivals must be willing to face me in the ballot in 2022. For now, Governor Ongwae and I need humble time to deliver the promises we made to the electorates during the August 8, 2017 polls," he added.
Maangi was speaking on Thursday when he consoled the family and friends of the late Hon. Zephaniah Nyangwara at Magenche in Bomachoge Borabu.
