Maangi while speaking at a funeral in Majoge Basi, Bomachoge Chache in Kisii County regretted that local leaders who lost last year's polls have been engaging in hateful politics with an aim of getting political mileage.

"Our people are being divided along political lines with selfish leaders who are out to achieve a hidden agenda. I am appealing to locals to embrace unity and ensure they keep off events being presided over by those people calling themselves politicians," he said.

The Deputy Governor asked police officers to be vigilant and apprehend local leaders inciting people to cause mayhem.

He assured that Kisii County government is working around the clock to open roads, build schools and hospitals.

"Critics must keep off the affairs of Kisii County government since the development promises are ongoing. It is a matter of days residents should be enjoying good roads, access to affordable health care," he noted.

Maangi warned county workers against engaging in dubious dealings saying DCI must not relent war on graft in the county.
