Led by Samuel Omwando, they claimed that the Hotel should be demolished since the land on which it's built belongs to government.

“We have seen the government demolishing houses on grounds that they were constructed on riparian and public lands.

"DP Ruto’s Weston Hotel should be demolished as well. President Uhuru Kenyatta should order its demolition the same way he has ordered other houses to be demolished,” he said.

Omwando said President Uhuru Kenyatta should not spare Ruto even if he is his Deputy.

“The law must cut across. Uhuru should not be afraid losing DP Ruto as his friend and order the demolition of Weston Hotel which is constructed on public land,” he stated.

Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka said Weston Hotel was constructed on a grabbed land.

"Since the government embarked on reclaiming public lands, Weston Hotel should be demolished.

"It doesn’t matter who owns the big hotel the fact remains that the hostel should be demolished as we have witnessed other houses being demolished,” he added.
