Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on Saturday returned to his Siaya bedrock, about two months after meeting Kikuyu leaders at his Opoda Farm home.

The former Prime Minister on Saturday joined area Senator James Orengo for the launch of an administration block at Bar Kodhiambo Primary School in Alego Usonga sub-county.

Raila was accompanied by local leaders led by area Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi, where local leaders pledged their commitment to supporting education in the region.

"With the Rt. Honorable Raila Odinga and Hon. SamuelAtandi in Bar Kodhiambo Primary School in Alego Usonga where we launched the newly constructed administration block. We are committed to supporting the education of our kids for it's the foundation upon which we build our future," Orengo tweeted.

On his part, Atandi thanked the former Prime Minister for his attendance and remarkable speech.

"Thank you Baba for your words of wisdom to pupils of Kodhiambo Primary School, Alego Usonga," wrote the MP on his Twitter account.

The leaders attended the function at almost the same time when leaders allied to the rival Jubilee Party were attending a funeral service in Raila's Bondo backyard.

The five Rift Valley politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto spoke during the burial of  Jaosh Nelo, father in law to Langata MP Nixon Korir.

Led by Belgut MP Nelson Koech, the politicians urged Raila to back Ruto's presidential bid in 2022.
