Fresh from attending the 6th devolution conference in Kirinyaga County, ODM Party leader Raila Odinga will be in Kisumu later this month for an international Conference.
The former Prime Minister is among hundreds of guests invited to attend the first Kisumu International Conference on Adequate and Affordable Housing, to be held at the Lakeside City’s Grand Royal Swiss Hotel, from March 19 to March 21, 2019.
The Conference will offer a medium for networking and cooperation across sectors, in the quest for adequate and affordable housing.
According to organizers, Odinga has been invited in his capacity as High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
The conference is being organized by various organizations in conjunction with the county government of Kisumu.
“The conference will be officially opened by Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o on March 19th before being officially closed by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on 21st,” said Grassroots Trust Coordinator Mr Lawrence Apiyo.
Grassroots Trust is one of the organizations involved in planning for the event.
“We expect him to come with his team, among them President Uhuru Kenyatta,” added Mr Apiyo.
Mr Apiyo said that they have invited a host of other guests, among them Council of Governor’s Chairman Wycliffe Oparanya and Cabinet Secretaries led by CS for Interior and coordination of national government Dr Fred Okengo Matiang’i.
