Police in Nyamira have served acting Governor Amos Nyaribo with court summons failure to which he could be arrestedby Thursday night.
On Tuesday, Labour Relations and Industrial Court Judge Nduma Nderi ordered the deputy county boss to appear on Thursday to explain why he should not be charged with contempt of court.
"Summons are hereby issued to the 6th Respondent to personally appear in court on July 12th to justify why he should not be committed t jail for disobeying court orders," read the ruling.
Nyaribo, a second term deputy governor, who is holding brief for ailing governor John Nyagarma, is accused of disregarding court orders.
A resident, Vincent Omao, had moved to court and obtained orders restraining Nyaribo from dismissing county secretary Erick Onchana from duty, even though the later has been dismissed.
"You are hereby summoned to appear in person at Kisumu High Court on July 12th failure to which we shall have no otherwise other than arresting," read the summons.
Intrigues between Mr. Nyaribo and Onchana have threatened service delivery in the South Nyanzan County with the latter pushing for the former's removal.
Already, Nyaribo is said to have fronted one Thomas Nyariki, Deputy County Secretary to take over as CS in an acting capacity.
This comes days after Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong was arrested over graft, a move that angered Council of Governors.
