Angry residents in Wote market, Mbooni East Sub County in Makueni county have asked the police to arrest and charge Mbooni East Deputy County Commissioner's driver.
This is after the driver allegedly threatened to cut a middle-aged man with a panga.
The incident is said to have happened in Wote market on Saturday where the driver emerged from the government vehicle armed with a panga and chased the man identified as Paul Musembi.
"I was sitting in that butchery when this driver came and started threatening my neighbour with a huge sharp panga," claimed an eyewitness, Kaleli Mweu while pointing to the butchery where the incident allegedly happened.
Mweu said that the threatened man who is well known in the area had to run away for his dear life.
"Musembi is a good person, I think the driver is just full of pride because he drives government vehicles, or maybe he thinks that because he carries the Deputy County Commissioner no one can take action against him," he added.
"We don't know what might befall the man who was chased, maybe he will end up slaughtering him," said Charity Mueni a business lady in the market.
Residents feel that the act is a threat to area security and urged the police to take action.
