Two suspects, Mohamud Hussein Aden and Juliet Njoki, who are linked to the attempted murder of former Garissa Finance Executive Idriss Mukhtar will know their fate on Tuesday when the court will rule on their bond and bail application.
The two were charged with attempted murder two weeks ago and have been in police custody.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi had set the ruling on their bond for October 2 but revised the date after the pre-bail reports were presented in court on Monday.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji is opposing the release of the suspects on bond or bail, saying they are threat to Mukhtar who is fighting for his life in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Nairobi hospital.
The former Finance CEC was shot and injured in Kileleshwa by hired hitmen on August 18.
One of the hitmen, David Mwai, who died in police cells allegedly confessed that he was sent to kill Mukhtar along with his lawyer Charles Kanjama.
Garissa Governor Ali Korane is among people who were interrogated in regards to the attempted murder.
Fear is said to have gripped the Garissa governor’s inner circle as detectives say that they are still pursuing four people linked to the incident.
