Though many Kenyan women go nuts over men in uniform due to their perceived swag, cash and physique, it only the chosen few who can sustain a relationship and family with a soldier.

Though you will always feel secure when you are around your man, many are times when he will be in the bush (no pun intended) fighting the enemy.

Marrying a soldier is a daunting task and you might end up spending lonely nights clutching to the pillow.

Speaking in Nakuru during the burial of the late Sarah Kasaon, wife to former Vice Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces Lt. Gen (Rtd) Joseph Kasaon, Gen Mwathethe said only a woman with steel heart would stay in a soldier’s life.

“A military wife must have the qualities of both a mother and a father. A military wife is supposed to have six sets of hands all of them taking care of her family. Sarah qualified to be the perfect military wife,” said Gen. Mwathethe.
