This year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations came to an end last week.
699,745 students across the country sat for various papers offered by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
The marking of the exams has reportedly kicked off in Nairobi and the Ministry of Education's announcement that the results will be out before this year's Christmas day has already put the candidates, teachers and their parents in a panic mode.
In the North Rift region, the following schools are likely to perform well and journalists will most likely flock these examination centres before the official release of the results in order to capture all the celebratory moments expected to be witnessed;
Kapsabet Boys
Located in Nandi County, Kapsabet Boys High School has over the past years posted exemplary results and has been able to compete with the most dreaded academic giants in the country.
In 2018, the school had seven candidates in the top 100 students in the country and managed a mean score of 9.3.
It was ranked the best in Nandi County.
Moi Girls Eldoret
This no doubt one of the best girls' schools in the country. It has always maintained the top position in Uasin Gishu county and in 2018, Moi Girls managed to have four of its candidates in the top 100 nationally.
Sing'ore girls
In 2017, the school in Elgeyo Marakwet county shocked many when it emerged the best overall in the country. However, things were different in 2018 as the extra county school failed to appear among the top 100 in the country. Many are eager to see whether the school will make a comeback and regain its lost glory.
