President Uhuru Kenyatta has been condemning politicians engaging in early campaigns, arguing that they distract development.

But on Saturday, Kuria said ODM leader Raila Odinga, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru have already launched joint campaigns.

The three led thousands of residents from Nyanza on Friday in the Building Bridges Initiative forum held in Kisii.

"I have no shame... I have no guilt to say that we are going to the elections in two years and we are going to see formations. Yesterday, we saw a formation of Raila Odinga, CS Matiang'i and Anne Waiguru. What happened yesterday was the launch of Raila - Matiang'i - Waiguru presidential campaign," Kuria said, according to the Star.

But Mr Odinga has often dismissed claims that he's keen to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, arguing that his aim is to fix the country.

On the other hand, DP William Ruto has intensified campaigns to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, with Kuria urging the state to respect his camp.

He added; "I belong to the wing where I am in alliance with Deputy President William Ruto. And if that's why you're arresting me, take me back now coz I am not shifting."
