Monica Lavender Okoth, the widow of the late Ken Okoth, has revealed the former Kibra Member of Parliament's love for his former School, the Starehe Boys Center.
In her tribute during Okoth's memorial service at the school on Wednesday, she said that the MP really admired the school to an extent that he carried his pictures while in school around.
She said that Okoth would first of all put up his Starehe picture whenever they moved to a new house.
"In the first part of my knowing Ken, before I came here, I was just hearing about Starehe boys, looking at the pictures. Every house we have moved into, we have lived in many houses, the first thing he would do was to put his Starehe picture," she said.
Mrs Okoth revealed that they have known each other for over 21 years, before she joined him in the country 15 years ago, eulogising the late Okoth as a determined man who knew no boundaries.
Monica added that their life together included living in many parts of the world after their first meeting at an Austrian University before the relationship blossomed into love and later marriage.
"I have led an incredible life with Ken. We have lived all over the world. We had all sorts of different jobs. We have had 12 different houses together. We have been truly privileged," she added.
Okoth succumbed to colon cancer on Friday, last week.
This came only weeks after his return from France, where he had gone to seek specialised treatment.
