After going through torrid moments where Kenyans were roasting the Nyamira governor John Nyagarama and his Kisii counterpart of being 'chased' out of Uhuru-Raila meeting, the Nyamira governor now wants the constitution amended.
Nyagarama who later denounced being chased away from Kisumu state lodge condemning the media of censoring the story says that the Council of Governors has hired lawyers who will foresee the amendments on the constitution.
"As the Council of Governors, we are already ahead. We have selected lawyers to represent us and see how the constitution will be changed." Nyagarama said on Monday.
The amendment of the constitution has been a debatable issue in Gusii region, with a section of leaders supporting it while some opposing it, saying it is aimed at creating other unnecessary posts.
Borabu Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi also supported Nyagarama's sentiments and challenged Gusii leaders working against the amendments to work hand in hand with the government.
"There are leaders from Kisii converging in hotels and want to tell us how to do our work. I want to tell those professionals to get out of the hotels so that we can work together with the government to achieve our big 4 agenda." Momanyi said.
