A body of Vincent Kemboi, an Administration Police (AP) officer and a famous rugby player in the country was on Wednesday found at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
The AP who was based in Utawala, Nairobi reportedly went missing on November 21, 2018, as he was heading to a hospital. Since then, efforts by his family and friends to locate him have not been successful as his phone went off on the day he disappeared.
It has been reported that the 24-year-old officer might have been involved in a road accident before his body was taken to the mortuary.
Through a Facebook post, the Administration Police rugby team confirmed the death of their player describing Kemboi as hardworking and disciplined.
"We mourn our dear Bro, colleague, Teammate and a Dear friend, Kemboi was a dedicated and disciplined police officer, a Team player and a Friend to many who knew him. Kemboi had a jovial spirit, he liked singing, we will miss his Kalenjin Gospel songs. It is well, Rest in Peace Speedster. Kemboi was involved in a fatal road accident along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway. (The late Kemboi is in a combat trouser in this video clip taken during one of our training sessions.) 😢#RIPKemboi,” reads the Facebook post.
