Melida Auma, the mother to slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno, said she's hopeful that her daughter will get justice soonest.
Buoyed by relatives at the emotional send off ceremony for Sharon, Mrs. Auma insisted that that the 'pain caused by murderers cannot fade easily'.
"It has been a very painful moment for us. Very tormenting. I wept when I saw her suspected killers in court," she told the gathering.
She added: "I know she will get justice. I trust in our judiciary and hopefully this process will be expedited."
Some of leaders who graced the occasion include Opondo Kaluma (Homa Bay Township), Paul Abuor (Rongo), Moses Kajwang (Homa Bay) and Gladys Wanga.
For some minutes, Rongo University students disrupted the programme as they chanted 'Rest in Peace, Rest in Power'.
Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero have been charged with the murder of Sharon, who was the governor's girlfriend.
