Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu has weighed in on the fake gold scandal in which his party leader Moses Wetangula is embroiled in.
Eseli said he would allow the Ford-Kenya party leader to give a statement on the scandal.
"While we do not condone any such activities anywhere in the country or elsewhere ,I would leave it until the party leader gives a statement, to give his side of the story because in this age where we live in the days of Cambridge Analytica, anything can be done to manipulate anything that is related to social media. I would rather leave him to comment and give his side of the story, " Dr Simiyu stated.
The MP said that scamming people was not the direction in which Kenyans wanted the country to go, adding that gold transactions in Kenya should be above board so that the country is not compromised.
"But I must admit that is not the way we would like Kenya to be, " he said.
The Tongaren MP hit out at Ruto's allies citing the fake gold scam noting that their aim was to disparage the handshake.
