The family of former CNN journalist Soni Methu has announced in their joint farewell statement that the late journalist will be laid to rest on Tuesday next week in Eldoret.
According to a statement published on Kiss FM's website, the family also stated that they will hold a wake in Diani and Nairobi before proceeding to Eldoret.
“To this end, the family has planned to hold for her a farewell and celebration of her life on the 23rd April 2019 at their home in Eldoret, Kenya where she shall be laid to rest. We hope to hold a wake in Diani and in Nairobi respectively before then,” reads part of the statement from the family who have also appreciated the overwhelming love that Soni has been shown since the announcement of her death.
“In the three days since Soni passed, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring love for her, and of support for us. Our family is devastated, and we know so many others share our pain. Soni touched many lives and brought beauty, light and love to those she touched, at home and globally. In coming days, we will finalize plans for her farewell,” the family was also quoted by Kiss FM.
Soni Methu died at the age of 34 last Thursday shortly after collapsing while complaining of stomach aches.
She has worked with top international media stations including CTGN, E-News, eNCA among others.
