A section of Jubilee leaders have angrily dismissed a report by poll stars IPSOS Synovate that ranked DP Ruto as the most corrupt Kenyan.
In the report which was released on Wednesday, Ruto led at 33 per cent while Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru came second at 31 per cent.
But two legislators from Nyamira, in a phone interview, said the motive of the report was suspect.
"That's pure political witch-hunt. We are not told who was interviewed and the methodology used.
"Also, the researchers failed to tell us what Kenyans believe Ruto has stolen or acquired illegally," protested Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose.
In her defense, county MP Jerusha Momanyi insisted the report was guided by political biases.
Mrs. Momanyi added that Ruto has been a subject to media assassination over his ambitions to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"In the past, they never told us about who's corrupt. Why is this now important? I believe this is political witch-hunt," she argued.
ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire, in a column on a local daily, had challenged Ruto over the weekend to come out clean on corruption cases.
But in an interview with NTV last month, Ruto swore that he had never been engaged in corrupt deals.
