National Resistance Movement (NRM) self-proclaimed general Miguna Miguna has blasted Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho over his referendum calls.
In a tweet, the controversial lawyer mocked Joho, who insisted that there will be a referendum before the 2022 general elections.
Speaking during an Eid Baraza at Treasury Square in Mombasa, Joho argued that the Kenyan constitution was not a private entity, hence it should be reviewed.
"Nobody owns our constitution and it is time to review it,"Joho said as quoted by Nation.
Joho's remark didn't augur well with Miguna, who said that the constitution belonged to Kenyans, adding that the latter had no intention of changing it anytime soon.
He further noted that those pushing for the referendum have their own interests at heart.
"You are wrong Mr. D-Minus. Kenyans own their constitution and they don't want to change it right now. Only despots and their collaborators like you are desperate to change the constitution so that you can craft a cartel-user-friendly version. We have said No. #DespotsMustFall," he tweeted.
