Opposition leader Raila Odinga has said his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta has nothing to do with the 2022 succession politics.
Speaking in Kisii on Friday, Raila said together with President Uhuru, they have embarked on making sure that all Kenyans are united.
In a thinly-veiled attack on Deputy President William Ruto who has been crisscrossing the country in tours seen to be popularizing his 2022 bid, the ODM party leader said he will not be dragged into that.
The ODM leader said he had agreed to work with President Kenyatta for the betterment of the country and that they will not be part of the 2022 political shenanigans as they were busy setting pace for a great Kenya.
Since the handshake on March 9, 2018, the political arena was thrown into a mix as some Jubilee leaders accused Raila of plotting to wreck Jubilee Party and interfere with its 2022 succession game plan.
DP Ruto and his allies have been accusing Raila of having a hidden motive in his new found love with Kenyatta.
“Be wary of false prophets. They are just clothed with sheepskin but are wolves,” DP Ruto said in reference to Raila last month.
