A section of parents in Nyamira have condemned nominated Member of Parliament Wilson Sossion who doubles up as KNUT secretary general for allegedly pushing teachers to strike starting January 2, 2019, when schools are expected to re-open.
The angry parents and guardians led by Christine Kemunto said Sossion must stop misleading teachers.
"Sossion is inciting teachers with an intention to seek political relevance. As parents, we are appealing to teachers not to boycott work because our children will suffer," she said.
Richard Mong'iti urged KNUT officials to kick out Sossion because he has turned into a politician.
"Sossion is a nominated MP allied to ODM. His drama must be ignored and KNUT officials should ensure he resigns with immediate effect to allow him to focus on his political roles," said Mong'iti, a parent.
Another parent Samson Onderi wondered why teachers are afraid of transfers to other schools.
"Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is doing a good job transferring teachers from one school to another. Sossion must stop misleading teachers to oppose the transfers because they are done in line with the set rules," said Onderi.
Sylvanus Onkundi, a teacher said he is already tired of staying at home since schools closed early.
