This was revealed by a letter written by renowned lawyer Charles Kanjama to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Haji.

"Please note that Idriss is still presently unconscious after the unfortunate shooting incident on the 19th August 2018 and the assassin's bullet is still lodged in his head," the letter partly read.

The letter comes amid concern about the pace of the investigations into the attempted murder.

Muktar had been undergoing treatment at a Nairobi Hospital and was flown out of the country for further treatment.

Noordin Haji has not yet responded to the letter and it is unclear whether he has read it at all.

In an interview with a local mainstream television station, DPP Noordin Haji had said that all those involved in the attempted assassination would be brought book irrespective of their status in the society.

Garissa Governor Ali Bunow Korane is among those interrogated by the police over the incident.
