Law enforcement officers are holding a lorry said to have been transporting 360 bags of illicit sugar from Somalia to Garissa.

The lorry was moving along the Diso-Garissa road when it was flagged down and is currently held at Garissa police station. 

Both the driver and the turnboy are being held as investigations continue.

Owners of the lorry are said to have been trailing the lorry but escaped when it was impounded.

Meru Mwangi who is Garissa County commissioner expressed gratitude to members of the public for tipping off the police.
