According to the Leader of Majority Josephat Lowoi who moved the motion on Thursday, he said this will help MCAs to meet the electorate at the grassroots.

"During the 30 days recess, members will use the time to explain county government policies to the electorate and how they work. We want the people who voted us in to see our presence, "said Lowoi.

Lowoi noted that they have been busy executing their legislative mandate and that it was time for them to go back to the electorate and address the challenges facing them.

"MCA's should use this time to go and sit down with the people and explain the bills they have passed, developments done; when they are going to initiate projects among others," added the Karuna Meibeki MCA.

He further said that MCAs should also ensure that the promises they gave the electorate during the electioneering period are fulfilled.

The long recess started on Thursday and they are expected to resume mid next month.
