The Ministry of Foreign affairs on Thursday addressed the alleged confusion facing the posting of ambassadors to various countries in the world.
Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau has dismissed the claim that some of the ambassadors vetted by parliament last year have been rejected by their host countries.
This comes a day after reports emerged that some of the envoys had not reported to their workstations because of certain technicalities.
Kamau said that the posting of the envoys involves more than just approval by parliament.
He insisted that each of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointees has his or her schedule to prepare before departing to the assigned country.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that each of the countries where the ambassadors were posted is making the necessary arrangements for the officials of the government.
He noted that their departure depends on the traditions and availability of the Heads of State of each of the respective countries.
Here is the statement the ministry shared:
PS Kamau said that the ambassadors will report to their stations very soon.
Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario, his PS Richard Ekai and former DCI boss Ndegwa Muhoro appointments hang in balance after their appointments faced integrity issues.
