Some of the impersonators on social media have commented on serious national matters while pretending to be Lumumba.

Lumumba, through a letter to The Standard, vehemently denied owning a Twitter account as it was being alleged.

“I have never had a Twitter account...These individuals have created these fake accounts and have been commenting and disseminating statements on various important national, regional and international matters using abusive, intrusive and sometimes incomprehensible language,” Lumumba's statement read.

A good number of fake accounts under Lumumba's name comment on trending matters using hard vocabularies in an effort to reflect the lawyer's oratory prowess.

According to the rules and regulations of Twitter, accounts that impersonate a public figure could be suspended.
