Dr Edwin Abonyo pulled off yet another moment of laughter on Friday, leaving President Uhuru Kenyatta in stitches.
The husband to late Bomet County Governor Dr Joyce Laboso recounted how political opponents of her wife trolled him to gain political mileage.
He explained how a picture of a toothless black man with a big head was used to depict him.
The narration left Uhuru laughing so hard that he pulled out his handkerchief to wipe his eyes.
"One of the biggest thing that people started off with, she is married to a Luo sijui nini... There were some pictures that were put of me. There was another black man that they used to portray who doesn't have teeth, I don't know what happened to his teeth. Now this Luo man became the symbol of Abonyo, " he said triggering laughter among the mourners.
His words painted a vivid picture of the struggles that Dr Joyce Laboso had to overcome in her path to becoming one of Kenya pioneering female governors.
They were also a reminder of Dr Abonyo's gift for hilarity in moments of sadness.
Dr Laboso started her political career in 2008 when she ran for the Sotik parliamentary seat when her sister, Lorna Laboso who was the area MP perished in a fatal plane crash.
She served as the MP for Sotik until she decided to run for the Bomet governor's seat in 2017, beating the then incumbent Governor Isaac Ruto with over 90,000 votes.
