Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Busia Senator Amos Wako have called for exclusivity in the meetings that are aimed at popularizing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Senator Wetangula pleaded with politicians to promote unity and peace among Kenyans especially during the BBI rallies.
Wetangula who had earlier on opposed the BBI report before making an unexpected U-turn during the Bukhungu rally in Kakamega claimed that those who were against the report should also be allowed into the BBI rallies.
According to the senator, the priority should be to unite Kenyans.
"I urge leaders not to exclude anybody even those whore are against BBI, to unite our country so we may walk together. It doesn't matter what formation they are using because the most important thing is uniting our people of Kenya," Wetangula stated as quoted by The Star.
Busia Senator Amos Wako who is also part of the BBI taskforce supported the sentiments made by Wetangula.
"Anyone who wishes to go to Mombasa is allowed because inclusivity is the Key. So let us all feel included in the initiative," Wako noted.
He went ahead to reveal a plan by the task force in collecting the views of people on the document which has now become the epicenter of politics in the country.
"BBI steering committee will hold meetings all over the country and they will remain low key because we want to obtain views on our recommendations from the public so we can convert them into constitutional amendments for a referendum," Wako added.
