Pastor Paul Kamlesh Pattni is not new to controversy when it comes to matters business, religion and politics.
Pattni came into the limelight when he was linked to the multi-billion Goldenberg scandal in the 1990's.
The wealthy businessman was arrested charged in court in regards to the Goldenberg scandal.
Pattni shocked many when he denounced Hindu religion and converted to Christianity in 2009 and decided to establish his own church.

1. Birth
He was born in 1965 in Mombasa county. Pattni was born in a Hindu family.
2. Denounced Hindu religion
Pattni denounced Hinduism and converted to Christianity in 2013 when he was acquitted of charges in the Goldenberg scandal.
He was baptised Paul Kamlesh Pattni and formed his own Church, Hope International.
He is the pastor of the church located in Nairobi with branches in other parts of the country.
3. Wealthy Businessman
Pattni is among wealthy preachers and businessmen with interests in various sectors of the economy.
In 2011, Pattni was forced to surrender the Grand Regency hotel (now Laico Regency hotel) to the government.
The businessman is said to have established the hotel through proceeds of Goldenberg scandal.
4. Goldrenberg scandal
Pattni was named as the main mastermind of the multi-billion Goldenberg scandal.
He was arrested and charged in court over the scandal.
He was however acquitted of the charges in 2013.
5. Politics
He is the founder of the Kenya National Democratic Alliance Party.
He unsuccessfully contested for the Westlands Parliamentary seat in 2007 and 2013 general election.
