Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant and businessman Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop popularly known as Buzeki has revealed why he ditched Jubilee Party.
Buzeki decamped to Chama Cha Mashinani party led by former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto.
In an exclusive interview with a local daily, Buzeki accused politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto of insulting other leaders and said that he has been forced to stick to his own ideologies.
“There are individuals who are gravely intolerant and thrive in retrogressive politics that if you follow their ideals then you have their blessings. But I am not that kind of politician. I have my ideologies on how to better the lives of people,” Buzeki said.
Revealing the real reason why he distanced himself with Ruto’s ‘Tanga tanga ‘ group and completely cut links with Jubilee Party, Buzeki said that one of Ruto’s confidants has revealed that he (Buzeki) will not be given a Jubilee Party ticket in 2022.
"A DP Ruto’s aide and an MP in Uasin Gishu have been going round saying that they will never issue a Jubilee certificate to me for my gubernatorial race come 2022 since I come from the Keiyo community. This is what broke the camel’s back in regards to my association with Jubilee,” Buzeki said.
Buzeki who lost to Governor Jackson Mandago during the Jubilee preliminaries in 2017 and later during the general elections where he vied on an independent ticket is expected to try his luck once again in 2022.
