Speaking Wednesday in Mombasa at a Kenya Headteachers Association event, the tough-talking CS said that school heads with the habit would be sent home packing.

"I will go to the ground... If you find any child sent back home the president will know about it. You are most unlikely going to keep your job because you have to give the child what is due to that child. Who do you think you are?" the Education CS said.

Prof George Magoha maintained that the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) would go on as had been intended by the Ministry of Education.

He called on those with objections to the CBC to come on board, vowing to protect it with the "last drop of my blood."

In his random visits to schools across the country, the CS said he had seen children being empowered.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) has strongly voiced its objections, saying that the teachers were not sufficiently consulted.

Knut Secretary General and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party nominated Member of Parliament Wilson Sossion has called on teachers to boycott the CBC.
