Deputy President William Ruto has stood his ground despite an ongoing campaign against his involvement in fundraisers, especially in churches.
Speaking in Turkana on Sunday, the DP said that no amount of pressure will stop him from supporting churches, noting that he will continue participating in fundraisers.
Ruto who spoke after presiding over a fundraiser that will see more than 20 churches benefit, noted that he will also support all religious groupings and organisations.
He lashed out at critics questioning his actions, saying that they will have to explain themselves before God one day, for refusing to support His (God) work while on earth.
"We will continue to support churches and all religious groups. Those who are against church contributions will face God during judgement day," said Ruto.
The DP's moves have been criticised by opposition leader Raila Odinga and his allies, who have questioned the source of the funds he donates in churches.
Raila has also rooted for a halt in politicians' operations in churches, urging church leaders to reject their monies, on grounds that they could be proceeds of graft.
The DP also launched a number of projects including the Lokori Technical Training College, which he noted will go a long way in empowering youth in the area.
"The four technical colleges in Turkana County will ensure that youth acquire relevant skills, competence and knowledge to drive the country's development programme in achieving our Big Four Agenda," said the DP.
He is expected to conclude his tour of the county on Monday.
