There was drama on Saturday evening in Gionsaria village, Kisii County after a man was caught red-handed undressing his daughter in her bedroom.
It is alleged that the man John Ombui sneaked into his 13-year-old daughter's bedroom at 6 pm.
"My husband left me outside and went to the house. I waited for him to come out in vain. I suspected something was fishy and decided to check on him but, I could not find him in the house. I went straight to our daughter's bedroom where I caught him red-handed undressing her," said Jacinta Monchari, the man's wife.
Monchari said her husband escaped from the bedroom immediately abandoning them.
"He rushed out of the bedroom when I tried to ask him what he wanted to do to our daughter. Upon questioning her she revealed to me that this was the first time the incident was happening," she noted.
Area chief Ben Gwoka said the man has since gone into hiding.
"Ombui has not returned to his home after the incident. It is not clear what his intentions were but, he will give us more details once we apprehend him," he noted.
He warned men against admiring their daughters for sex.
