National Assembly Leader of Majority Aden Duale has joined other leaders and Kenyans to share congratulatory messages to Eliud Kipchoge and Gladys Cherono for winning the 2018 Berlin Marathon on Sunday.
The Garissa Township MP took to his twitter account to express his joy after Eliud Kipchoge won his third Berlin Marathon and setting a new world record.
“Our own Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge has set a new marathon world record in the 2018 Berlin Marathon. This is one of the greatest achievements in human history. Congratulations Gladys Cherono for winning the women’s Berlin Marathon 2018,” said Mr Duale on twitter.
In breaking the world record, Kipchoge clocked 2:01:04, Amos Kipruto finished second in 2:06:22 while the former world record holder Wilson Kipsang finished third at 2:06:47.
Gladys Cherono retained her Berlin Marathon women’s race and smashed her personal best and course record after winning her third Berlin Marathon.
She became the fourth fastest woman in the history of women’s marathon when she won the marathon in 2:18:11.
