According to the Ukambani political kingpin, retired President Mwai Kibaki and his advisor cum strategist, Stanley Murage met him.

Kalonzo narrates how the two tried to convince him to cross over to their side but he refused.

He states in the book that Kibaki’s team later approached him after the disputed 2007 general election and they formed a committee to hold talks.

Kalonzo revealed that the former Kitui Senator, David Musila, the then ODM Kenya chairman Samuel Poghisio and former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama represented him during the talks.

He continues to narrate that Kibaki was represented by the late John Michuki and Amos Kimunya, a former minister for finance.

“But this time”, he writes, “They did it through David Musila."

"Musila came to my Karen home, we agreed to form a small team to explore the possibility of my party joining the government. On my side, this team comprised Musila, Samuel Poghisio, our party chairman and Johnstone Muthama, the Kangundo MP, “ he writes.

The naming of Kalonzo as the Vice President of this nation changed the political dynamics.

Kalonzo had parted ways with NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Kalonzo has now declared an interest in Presidency.
