The outgoing US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec was on Wednesday hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a farewell party as he prepared to leave the country.
During the party, Godec expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and support he received during his tenure.
"Asanteni sana to the many, many friends and colleagues across Kenya who have extended their wisdom, hospitality, and generosity to Lori and me over the years. Kenya will forever remain in our hearts.
"Lori and I are so very grateful for our time in Kenya. We will never forget this magical country and all of the remarkable Kenyans we have met over the years. Thank you to everyone and kwaheri ya kuonana!" Godec stated.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during Godec's tenure, Kenya and USA have witnessed enhanced and expanded relations across all sectors of cooperation including health, food security, and transport.
Among those who graced the occasion was Ministry of Foreign affairs PS Michael Kamau, Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji and Chief Justice David Maraga.
