Despite mending fences in the past few months, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria insists that he will never vote for opposition leader Raila Odinga in any presidential election.

Instead, Kuria says Mr Odinga can only be his competitor since he has also declared his candidature ahead of 2022 polls which Raila could be a likely candidate.

"I can never support him. It's weird because I am also a presidential candidate. How will I ask people to vote for me then I yet again tell them am voting Raila? I will be on the ballot and no matter what people say about me, I have those who also admire me. I will go for the seat and I am ready to face anyone else," said Kuria on Wednesday.

Mr Kuria has been on the receiving end from a section of Mt Kenya leadership with some accusing him of undermining president Uhuru Kenyatta, a claim he denies.

On Raila's unity with Uhuru, Kuria said the move was the best decision ever to happen in the history of Kenya, insisting that he'll support it always.

"Sometimes I could not step in Kisumu. Now I can freely walk in the streets of the town. The handshake has brought about stability," he said.

He was speaking during an interview with Citizen TV.
