A Jubilee elected MCA from Gusii region has lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing former Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet into government days after he retired.
Daniel Apepo Tabaka ward MCA said Uhuru had no option rather than to appoint Boinnet who worked tirelessly in the police force to bring reforms.
"I wish to welcome Uhuru's decision to appoint Boinnet because appointing youthful individuals into high positions in government makes them to be corrupt. It is better to have Boinnet serve at his new position instead of employing someone who is money oriented," said the ward rep.
He said the main reason Uhuru appointed Matiang'i is because Boinnet has been a clean person in the police force.
"Boinnet is a no nonsense man and this could be the reason Uhuru settled on his for the Chief Administrative position at the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife," he added.
The MCA appealed to young people working in government to stop diverting public funds into their own pockets for the sake of building the names of youths.
"Youths may find it had working in government because of engaging in dubious dealings," he stated.
