Njagua was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) outside Parliament for interrogation over his recent remarks over the deportation of all foreign traders in the country.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Kipkorir said that the law should be applied to everyone except the president.

"Now that law in Kenya is being applied as it should, some people are crying or threatening chaos ... Everyone other than the President ought to be arrested & charged for crimes of Murder, Corruption, Money Laundering, Tribal & Xenophobic Incitement et al. The Law applies to all," he said.

The first time legislator on Monday vowed to kick out all foreign traders conducting business in his constituency including Gikomba market. Jaguar claimed that foreign traders have taken over businesses from the locals.

"I give the government 24 hours to evict these foreigners lest I, being a representative of this area, go into their shops, beat them and send them all the way to the airport,” he said.
