Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has rubbished Siaya Senator James Orengo's plot to impeach Deputy President William Ruto.
Mbai says the impeachment motion is a plot to derail the Jubilee government development agenda.
In a phone interview on Saturday. Mbai asked Orengo to respect the DP and allow him time to serve Kenyans.
Mbai said that the only way Orengo can remove DP from office is through the ballot.
"Kenyans are tired of malicious and baseless politicking and the likes of Senator Orengo should allow the Jubilee government to work for Kenyans," he said.
Mbai questioned Orengo's interests in pushing for Deputy President's ouster.
The Jubilee MP said that DP Ruto has done nothing wrong to be impeached.
"We are waiting for the motion so that we can show Orengo and his friends that DP Ruto has the numbers that will protect him," he said.
Orengo's plot to impeach the Deputy President continues to generate debate across the political divide.
A section of Jubilee Party politicians has rubbished Orengo's push to remove DP from office.
The politicians further allege that opposition leader Raila Odinga could be behind Orengo's motion to impeach DP Ruto.
A section of Raila's close allies has however defended him against the claims.
Orengo maintains that he has enough grounds to initiate for Ruto's removal.
