Speaking on Radio Maisha’s ‘Bunge La Maisha’ Monday morning, Amisi raised suspicion over Uhuru’s sudden vigor and energy in his supposed bid to wipe out the menace.

He further wondered why the nation is yet to hear of any conviction despite the President’s initial vows to ensure that the corrupt are properly dealt with.

‘’Mimi nashangaa na najiuliza kama yuko genuine  maana katika muhula wake wa kwanza hadi alikubali kuwa ameshindwa, amepata wapi hizi nguvu mara moja? (I do not understand how he is suddenly so energetic after throwing in the towel in his first term),’’ said the legislator.

The opposition’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) parliamentarian said that the nation, however, needs to give him more time to rate his sincerity.

With many graft cases ongoing at the moment, he noted that Uhuru should be given until the end of this year, after which he should be judged basing on the amount of stolen monies his government manages to recover from graft suspects.

‘’Tumpe hadi mwisho wa huu mwaka. Ikiwa pesa zitakuwa zimerudi basi yuko na goodwill (lets watch and see the recoveries made by the end of this year),’’ he added.
