South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro has pleaded with the national government to consider sending more money to Kisii county.
Osoro argued that devolution has not been felt in deep villages due to insufficient funds being sent to the county.
"People of Kisii county more particularly in my own constituency have not tasted the fruits of devolution. There is a need for the national government to increase funds being sent to Kisii county for the county government to initiate more projects to benefit our people," he said.
The vocal lawmaker insisted that Kisii Governor James Ongwae's hands are tied because the county is underfunded.
He challenged elected MPs to push for more money to be sent to Kisii county.
"I believe it is not only in my constituency where devolution has not been felt but, it is in all constituencies in Kisii. I want to urge elected MPs to intervene and ensure more funds are sent to the county," he stated.
MP Osoro however, warned county workers against looting funds saying the law will not spare them.
He was speaking during an interview at NTV on Tuesday night.
