Speaking on Wednesday, the lawmaker dismissed Uhuru's Sunday bashings on an unnamed group of Mt Kenya leaders who he said has been engaging in early politics.

He observed that Uhuru is the guilty party.

He took issue with Uhuru's remarks that he will be the one to decide the direction that Mt Kenya takes in 2022.

The vocal MP also dismissed the disrespect allegations Uhuru made during an Akorino function at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, Nairobi.

"He is the one politicking when he says that we are insulting him and that he will decide the direction we will take (Ni yeye anafanya siasa akisema eti sisi tunamtukana. Eti yeye ndiye atasema penye tutaenda)," he said.

The MP was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night.

He said that he will not shy away from responding to the head of state using any channel, as long as the President remains reluctant to offer a better response channel.

"If he speaks through the media how will I respond to him? Through the media (Akiongea kwa media nitamjibu wapi? Kwa media)," he added.

Ngunjiri is not new to exchanges with the President and was early in the year involved in another scuffle with Uhuru over his reluctance to endorse his deputy as he had initially promised.
